Welcome to the Hamden Youth Hockey Association 2019-20 Hockey program. We greatly appreciate your interest in joining our organization. Below are our fees for each level and details about costs.

Learn to Play Hockey Clinic - $125/session or $299 for all three

Mite House - $750

Mite Travel - $1600

Squirt Travel - $2300*

Pee Wee Travel - $2500*

Bantam Travel - $2700*

Girls U19 (1/2 year) - $1100*

*Goalies in all age groups and levels Squirt and above pay half the tuition price.

 

Included in tuition:

  • Consistent weekly practice schedule and home games at the Louis Astorino Rink in Hamden
  • 40+ CHC game schedule
  • Weekly in-season skills sessions, including formal goalie training
  • One in-season tournament
  • CHC state tournament
  • USA Hockey ADM Model

 

Additional costs:

  • Uniforms: For travel hockey players, it will be the player's responsibility to purchase a uniform, which consists of 2 game jerseys (home and away), two pairs of socks, and pant shells.
  • USA Hockey and CHC affiliate fees: All players are required to pay their USA Hockey and Connecticut Hockey Conference (CHC) affiliate fees directly to USA Hockey via the USA Hockey website. No player will be allowed on the ice for the season without being registered with USA Hockey.
2019-20 Learn to Play Hockey Clinic - ALL Sessions (9/25/19-2/26/20)

HYHA Learn to Play Hockey Clinic Program Registration

At Hamden’s Learn to Play Hockey Clinic, participants will learn the fundamentals of skating and hockey necessary for developing into a hockey player, per the American Development Model (ADM) set forth by USA Hockey. Clinic sessions run one weeknight and Saturday mornings, beginning in the fall.

 

Boys and girls, ages 3-18 are introduced to the basic skills of skating, puck control, passing and shooting. Participants learn through practice drills and informal scrimmages that are directed by USA Hockey certified instructors who are on the ice at all times. The goal of the program is to ensure the introduction to hockey is a positive experience.

 

The program runs in three sessions, approximately 6 weeks each, from September through February as follows:

 

Session 1: September 25 - November 9

Session 2: November 13 - January 4

Session 3: January 8 - February 26

 

 

Wednesdays 5:00pm

Saturdays 10:30am

 

Cost is $125 per session or $299 if registering for all three sessions at once.

2019-20 Mite House Registration

Mite House Development is perfect for players making the transition from Learn to Play Hockey Clinic to more team-oriented play and mite-age players.

Practice will be Wednesdays and Fridays at 5pm and  in-house games Saturdays at 7am.
